From the second quarter of the 18th century furniture design took a new path reflected in a break with the Baroque style of lavishly carved wardrobes. The plain and “modern” wave-front wardrobe derives its name from the waves covering its entire surface, which were produced solely with a plane. Characteristic of the Nuremberg wave-front wardrobe are the rounds an channels running only vertically. The decor achieves its distinctive effect only from the light reflecting on its surface.
