Ways of Flying

Francisco Goya1816

Museo Lázaro Galdiano

Museo Lázaro Galdiano
Madrid, Spain

A way of flying or A way of flying with wings is the preparatory drawing for the sheet number 13 of the Follies in which a flying artefact is used, which looks like Leonardo's drawings.

In the collection there is also a proof of state of the print, before the definitive edition, in which a night flight is depicted. Maybe it only represents the dream of flying, or, because they are wearing hats shaped as birds of prey, they could be interpreted as the powerful hovering and swooping on the weakest preys.
