This 1929 recording of Die Fledermaus was drawn from ten metal sources: In the 1920s-30s, complete operas were abridged and recorded with 5-7 minutes edits per side. This abridged performance of Die Fledermaus was made by conductor Hermann Weigert and featured stars of the time such as Adele Kern as Adele, Franz Völker as Alfred and Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender as Falke. It's a miracle that all 10 sources have survived the war, as Weigert's work - like many other Jewish artists' - was later banished by the Nazis and many of his recordings destroyed.
