This is a sculptural ceramic whistling bottle depicting a bird-feline. The whistling bottles were probably used in funerary rituals of community leaders. In this type of ritual objects, air and water converse and produce the sounds that accompany the ceremonies in which different worlds come into contact in the mystery of death. In this piece, the feline and the bird express the connections achieved through the ritual mediation. (UH)

Esta es una botella silbadora escultórica de cerámica que representa un ave-felino. Las botellas silbadoras fueron probablemente utilizadas en los rituales mortuorios de los líderes comunitarios. En este tipo de objetos rituales el agua y el aire dialogan y producen los sonidos que acompañan a las ceremonias en las cuales los diferentes mundos toman contacto en el misterio de la muerte. En esta pieza, el felino y el ave expresan la conexión lograda a través de la intermediación ritual. (UH)
