Kensington Gardens was inspiration for author JM Barrie, who lived locally. John Gay's photograph shows the statue of Barrie's famous character, Peter Pan. Barrie commissioned the sculptor Sir George Frampton to create the statue, which has been a part of Kensington Gardens since 1912, and which is now Listed Grade II*.
