Women's Institute First Meeting

Executive Committee Minutes Volume 1. Record of the first meeting of the Women's Institute, founded in Canada in 1897 in order to bring together women from rural communities and educate them in subjects such as home economics and husbandry. The first British Women's Institute was established in 1915 as part of the Agricultural Organization Society.
