Five basic wardrobe items make up a Plains Indian woman’s wardrobe—dress, moccasins, leggings, belt, and shawl.
Moccasins and leggings were always worn together by Plains Indian women. It was considered improper to appear without leggings. Leggings could be fully or partially beaded.
