Wood Norton Hall country house was built in 1897 in the Jacobethan style by GH Hunt for the Duc d'Orleans. The family left in 1912 and it was later occupied by the British Broadcasting Corporation and used during the Second World War as a station for listening to enemy radio broadcasts.
