Stereo views were an early form of family entertainment that took the place of television, computers, and home videos today. When placed in a special device sometimes termed a "stereopticon," the image could be seen in three dimensions. Almost any subject could be made into a stereo view, nature scenes along with views of cities and important places, events, and famous personalities. This particular example is the only known stereo view of Victoria Woodhull.
