Workers perform routine maintenance on the emergency egress system of Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The system includes seven slidewire baskets that can hold up to three people. The slidewire extends from the pad's fixed service structure 195 feet above the ground to a landing zone 1,200 feet to the west.
