This is an example of a magnificent design for a writing desk. The calligraphy on the top and sides is in a semi-cursive style. The mother-of-pearl lettering is inlaid into black-lacquered pine with the wood’s brown color partially revealed. The lacquered surface and nacre-inlaid writings are smoothly rendered.
