Fang toured widely in China to visit majestic mountains and rivers, in particular the Loess Plateau which provided her a rich source of inspiration. This painting captures her impressions of the highlands and its people, also her good will for the prosperous life of Chinese people and the nation. It was done in a vibrant veil of red paint, with sweeping lines that are reminiscent of the spontaneous brushstrokes of Chinese cursive script.
