This print is part of Hiroshige's series "Famous Views of Kyoto". After studying at the Utagawa art school, Hiroshige was considered proficent in multiple styles of painting including: Kanō, Nanga (or "southern painting"), Shijō, and Western. These approaches and traditions influenced his unique style.
