Yucca sp. is a slow-growing plant and native to the Chihuahuan desert. It has a bushy, tree-like appearance and can reach up to 32ft. It develops mainly on slopes and stony soils and flowers between March and April. Ixtle, or Tampico fiber, is extracted from its leaves and offers a resistant natural fiber used to make textiles.
