Photograph of Knoll Gavina showroom designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli in 1968. Knoll acquired Gavina, an Italian furniture company which represented many new Italian modern designers. The Vignellis designed this showroom space for the Gavina Group at the Knoll headquarters in New York City. The white space was divided by sheer curtains lined with neon light supergraphics spelling out "Knoll," "Gavina," and the featured designers names in different colors. The classic designs by Marcel Breuer are mounted on the wall and the newer Gavina designs were arranged on the floor. Featured furniture designers included: Marcel Breuer (Cesca chair, Wassily chair, Laccio coffee and side tables, and bent wood chair), Kazuhide Takahama (Suzanne lounge collection and Gea storage system), Sebastian Matta (Malitte lounge), Tobia Scrapa (Bastiano lounge and Andre dining table), and Vigo Mastrietti (Caori table).
