This helmet is a part of a very famous Tosei-gusoku (‘Modern’ armour) worn by TACHIBANA Muneshige the first load of the Yanagawa clan, and is considered to have been made just before Battle of Sekigahara in 1600.
The Shikoro (neck guard of a helmet) is one of the highlights of this helmet as a prime example of Hineno style Shikoro. Its lower edge shaped to the shoulders is lean and beautiful.
