Poster advertising the Maurycy Fajans' Steam-Navigation Company, by unknown artist, is considered to be one of the oldest preserved Polish artistic posters. It was printed in 1892 using the chromolithography technique in a lithography printing house belonging to a famous Warsaw photographer, lithographer and draftsman, Maksymilian Fajans (1825–1890), brother of the company's owner, Maurycy (1927–1897).

An anonymous author presented a scene of welcoming a steam-ship by a man tracing a shipping route, raising his hand in gesture of salute. The ship, called Andrej, is depicted with Warsaw's Old Town panorama in the background. A characteristic part of the composition is a blank field, left most probably for information about steamers timetable.

Maurycy Fajans' Steam-Navigation Company provided steam water transport between Warsaw – Płock – Włocławek, using ships designed and constructed in a shipyard in Solec, administered by Maurycy's son, Edward. The turn of the 19th and 20th century was a period of splendour of steam-ship transport on the Vistula river. As reported by the press at the time, in 1903 almost 5500 ships crossed Warsaw both ways.
