On a visit to the United States in March, 1985, Her Majesty received the Asia Society Humanitarian Award in New York City and attended a State dinner at the White House. She used both occasions to promote SUPPORT. Her Majesty wore this suit on an unofficial visit to Southern California at the invitation of the Ambassador Foundation where she spoke to students at Ambassador College and presided over an exhibition of SUPPORT products. (Mortensen converted the traditional wrapped and drapped Thai Chong Kraben intostep-in trousers as an option of this daytime ensemble)
