(5) An acid solution is added to the concentrated beni-eki and agitated, which separates the red pigment (crystallization). The amount of acid solution is adjusted by observing delicate changes in the color and foam conditions. The color of the beni will turn blue or black and lose its brilliant gloss if any mistakes are made in the amount of acid solution added.
