Cobalt blue pigment is used as under glaze decoration on this plate. In the inner center is a circular design of pine, bamboo and plum surrounded by intricate arabesque design. It is easily mistaken for another dish of Arita Ware with the exact same design made in the same period. The words Nagakiyama sei (made by Nagakiyama Kiln) on the bottom side, however, indicate that this was made by the Daikokuya Kiln at Izushi.
