Dessert is something that gives one's month a sense of bliss after a fulfilling meal, and the brain is instantly rushed with satisfaction, desire, and joy; however, unfortunately, the feelings can only stay momentarily, and usually what follows are feelings of emptiness and disappointment. Wang Liang-Yin's surreal dream-like sweets are able to satisfy with a visual feast that is eternal and comforting. Accompanying the luscious coatings is oozing melted cream that continuous to pour down, and shows that Wang's work juxtaposes the ironic disappearing deterioration next to the complete existence. The depiction comes from the artist’s experiences with life's surroundings. Food appears to be so full of temptation, but at the same time, it also represents that beautiful things are prone to decay. This also correlates to how people tend to fall into a haze of beautiful illusions by only looking at a fracture of the complete situation, and the artist is trying to create a sense of surprise from her own fracture of imagination.
