Yi Women’s Colorful Cotton Blouse with Vertical Placket Front

This colorful cotton blouse with a vertical placket is beautifully embellished with applique embroidery, which is a technique by pasting cut-outs based on pre-designed palette and patterns onto a foundation fabric. As far as the decoration on the two sleeves concerned, fabrics in red, yellow, white, green and black were firstly cut into triangles in side length of 1cm and placed on the foundation fabric based on pre-designed layout and then fixed with hidden stitches, creating lines of geometric patterns by color and fabric variation.
Regarding the embellishment on the central front and rear panels, and also the bottom, colorful fancy borders were created by placing squares with side length of 9cm which carry larger triangles beneath smaller triangles. Directions of these triangles are in a fixed pattern, making the geometric border full of dynamic and liveliness.
