This pair of black straight leg trousers applies the applique embroidery, which is a technique by pasting cut-outs based on pre-designed palette and patterns onto a foundation fabric. As far as this pair of trousers is concerned, small triangles were cut and pasted onto larger triangles with side length of 3.5cm, which were later fixed into rectangles on the red cloth foundation by stitches with colored threads along the edges. Some other geometric forms such as lozenges appear occasionally on the blank of the red foundation strips, which were finally stitched onto the edges of the black trouser legs, serving as highly-decorative hems with bright colors. Directions of these triangles are in a fixed pattern, making the geometric border full of dynamic and liveliness.
