The green herring grew hands and feet that sprung from its face. However, not content with merely having human features, it attempted to magically grow wings and become the Garuda, one of the eight Buddhist demi-gods, so that it could be worshiped along with Buddha in the Mahavira Hall by followers.

“Herring Acquires Human Form and Becomes Nearly Immortal” is the title for the fourth frame. By this time, the green herring with human face, hands and legs was very close to being human.
