The ring was first a tool wearing on thumb when pulling a bow, then it became an adornment. This ring from the Zeng Hou Yi mausoleum is pointy in the front and rounded in the back, with a large oval hole in the center. In the back is a small hole for a rope to go through and on one side is a small jade hook. The ring was found near the left hand of the marquis. The marquis was probably a left-hander when using bow and arrows.
