Glaucophane schist was metamorphic rock formed in the low-temperature and high-pressure environment, its protolith was mainly basic volcanic rock. The rock’s surface interlaced formations of long prism and dark Glaucophane porphyroblastic and the main rock was pink and fine-grained spessartine. As the Glaucophane schist looks like bamboo leaf, it is also known as "bamboo-leaf stone". It was generally believed that petrogenesis was a subduction of the oceanic plate toward the continental plate which caused high-pressure and plate dehydration and then formed the low temperature metamorphic environment. This effect commonly accompanied by the high temperature and low pressure metamorphism occurred in the island arc environment, also called "paired metamorphic belt". The specimen was collected from the eastern Taiwan Yuli. It was formed by the high-pressure and low temperature regional metamorphism, indicating that the Pre-Pacific oceanic plate subducted toward west of the Eurasian plate.
