Barrels of decorated porcelain and matting of white porcelain carry over the Meiling Pass to reach the southern town in Guangdong, Nanxiong. The land route over the pass covers 24 miles from Gan River to Changnan in Guangdong province. After the mountain climb, porters utilise the water transport sailing along Bei River, passing Yingde, Qingyuan, Dongguan and Foshan, before arriving at Canton.
