Do-maru armor with dark blue lacing

This suit of armor was owned by Tachibana Akikata, the 9th lord of the Yanagawa domain.
It was worn by wrapping it around the body and fastening it under the right arm. This type of armor is called retro armor which was made in imitation of medieval-style armor. However, its round-shaped cuirass and center-parted kusazuri (skirt protecting the lower body) show characteristics of the 19th century style.
Unlike the other ancestral suits of armor, this piece has no family crest design, which suggests that it was ready-made, not custom-made.
