Nobuo Matsubara at work. Grandson of the Living National Treasure, Teikichi Matsubara, and son of Toshio Matsubara, who is also a craftsman of nagaita chūgata. The Matsubara family uses a rectangular indigo vat so that the fabrics do not rub against each other.
