The Yuliao archeological site is located in Taibao Township of Chiayi County. In 2002, the archaeological team of National Museum of Natural Science discovered four large trash pits at this site. Many objects found in the pits were dated by C14 isotope method about 2,000 years before present. Among them, the high-bellied jar is one of the most characteristic objects. It was most likely used to store foodstuffs.
