Gori is a container with a lid. Large containers are referred to as gorijjak, round containers donggori, and cornered containers mojaebi. Round ones are used to contain clothes and books, serve wedding food, or store rice cakes for memorial ceremonies. Its size varies depending on usage, and most gori containers are round or square in shape. The upper part is made to be bigger than the lower one to serve as a lid. Gori was used to store clothes and books before the invention of cabinets and closets. In the royal court, the rims of the container were decorated by wrapping leather around them, while containers for clothes were painted in yellow, or decorated with metal ornaments.
