Oil Press

This is a device designed to extract oil, which is composed of support and stone. Extracted oil would flow down along the furrow and fall into the bowl at the bottom. The shape of the oil press varies from province to province, but its basic structure consists of two wooden panels, a support and a drain container. Extracting oil requires a series of processes, from parching the ingredients, pounding them in a mortar to make a dough-like substance, putting it in a hemp pouch before placing it on one panel, and then placing the other panel   inserted into the support on top of the dough-like substance and pushing it down manually, or placing a heavy object such as a fulling block and a millstone on top. For extracting small amounts of oil, it was more convenient to use a compact oil press, which is made by trimming a log into a rectangular shape, making a circular hole in the center of the upper side, and then making a three-line furrow. It has a hole in the upper  side and a pressing cylinder that fits in the hole.
