This is a tool used to pour liquid into a bottle with a narrow mouth. It is shaped like a morning glory flower and has a hole on the bottom. It is mostly used when transferring soy sauce or oil from one container to another. A large funnel is used to transfer grains, while smaller ones are used for liquid. It is generally made of wood, tin or plastic. The funnel shown here is used to transfer grains into a container or bottle with a narrow mouth. It was made by carving a log to make a wide mouth and a narrow, cylindrical stem. A trimmed branch is fixed to one side as a handle.
