Ursus, an omnivorous giant mammal, became extinct at the end of the last ice age about 20,000 years ago. Its body size is about 30% bigger than that of a Brown Bear. Most fossil specimens were found in limestone caves of low mountain areas, which indicates that this species spent most of its dailylife in caves and used caves for hibernation.
