This medical book from Joseon Dynasty is composed of 25 chapters bound in 25 volumes. By the royal order of King Sejong, Heo Jun (1546-1615) started to compile the book in 1597, and the work was completed for publication in 1613 during the reign of King Gwanghaegun. Heo Jun collected and edited medical books of Joseon and China to compile a medical book appropriate for the local conditions at that time. The first edition of this compilation has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list, and the copy housed at the National Palace Museum of Korea is assumed to have been published by the provincial administration in 1814.
