This is a wooden ritual vessel for watery food. Du is in a slim-waisted drum shape, like another bamboo ritual vessel, byeon. This bowl is lacquered in black, with an attached handle on the lid. In each spirit chamber of the Ancestral Shrine, twelve bamboo vessels, two lines in length and six lines in width, were set on the east side of the ritual table. Some bowls have patterns on the surface while others are plain.
