In this painting, strokes of Chinese characters are substituted with objects relating to each Confucian virtue. Although it is not easy to recognize the pictorialized Chinese characters, the dark color of the ink gives the viewers a clear outline. The five cardinal colors with green added to it, give the painting a decorative aspect. The way that the objects are depicted is very stylized but there is a sense of harmony between the Chinese characters and different images.
