This is a comb box used to store hairstyling tools such as combs, comb-cleaning brushes and hair-parting pins. It resembles a mirror stand, in that it consists of several drawers of various sizes, and has similar functions, but the key difference is that the comb box has no mirror attached to it. The size varies from that of a wooden pillow up to about 30 cm. It was placed and used at the bedside alongside a mirror stand. The overall shape of the box is a rectangular box, with a lid that opens upward. Two hinges are attached to the back, while there is a lock at the front. The front has three drawers, each with a handle. The seams of each side are affixed with metal brackets. The upper side is decorated with two cranes and peaches, while the front side is decked with a mother-of-pearl landscape pattern. There are four legs at the base. The entire body is painted in black, while the legs are painted in red.
