Lee Han-cheol was a son of the royal painter Eui-Yang and he was also a governor. As a royal painter he drew one of the royal-commissioned paintings of King Heonjong in 1846. In several areas, he was a renowned artist. This painting is about customs and habits of Joseon people and its main purpose was for the education of the King. But in the 19th century, this kind of painting settled as a local people’s life description for royalty. Each month was depicted with monthly events but there are only ten scrolls left.
