Sokuri, or bamboo basket, is a tool used to strain water from food or to store vegetables and coarse grains. It is also called o-hap. It is called by a variety of names according to its purpose. Those for holding manure were called manure sokuri, and those for holding earth were earth sokuri. Those made of bush clover were called basokuri. It is generally made by weaving thin bamboo strips into a semi-circular shape. In the present day, sokuri is made of wire or plastic instead of bamboo.
