This is a tool that was connected to the end of a spear used for hunting animals. Depending on the number of blades, it was referred to as a single-bladed spear, a double-bladed spear, etc. However, even the same type of spear differed in the specific shape and length of the blade. A blade was divided into three types according to its shape: one with a sharp tip like an awl; an angular blade shaped like the head of a poisonous snake; and one with a barb like a harpoon. At the bottom of the single blade was a socket into which a handle was inserted. A single-bladed spear was mainly used for hunting roe deer, rabbits, wildcats, and badgers.
