Yongsu is a long, round, cylinder-shaped basket used to filter soy sauce or liquor. Its long, round body was made by weaving together bamboo strips, while its mouth was rimmed with thicker bamboo strips and fixed with steel wires. Some versions feature a tall cylinder shape with a slim waist, while others have a bulky body with a narrow neck and a mouth that flares out. It is usually woven out of bamboo or dried bush. A rice wine strainer was an essential tool in every household, yet it has become obsolete due to lifestyle changes. When rice wine is fully ripened, the strainer is put into the middle of the jug a day before drinking, and then the wine gathered in the strainer can be ladled out on the next day.
