Binyeo is a hairpin used to secure the chignon, and could have different name by its head shape and material. This is called Yongjam, which directs a dragon shaped-Binyeo. There is a dragon’s head engraving on one end, and the use of Yongjam was exclusively for the queen. This particular Binyeo is also decorated with a motif of phoenix, a symbol of good fortune designed especially for the women of royal household.
