This set of seals belonged to Regent Yi Haeung (1820-1898), the father of Emperor Gojong. Tuin(nested seals) refers to a set of different sized seals that can be stacked within each other for easy transportation. All six sides of the innermost and smallest pieces are engraved, whereas the four larger pieces have five engraved sides and one side is hollowed out to house the smaller pieces. Hence the total number of engraved sides in this set is twenty six.
