The Land of Wisdom I

The art of KIM Daesoo (1955- ) concerns itself with the nostalgic aspiration for the genesis of humanity or ancient days. In The Land of Wisdom I (1996) mutually irrelevant objects including fossil forms of animals and egg-shaped stones are arranged in the way of revealing the adamant presence of past time in the subconscious. Thereby each object is decontextualized from its original daily context and renews itself into a metaphoric entity.
