The linocut of Józef Słobosz presents the dense, grassy vegetation motif inscribed in the geometric shape of the inclined rectangle. The grasses, stoutly silhouetted against a homogeneous white background, fill the larger, lower part of the composition. The rhythmic nature of the thicket, described by the wealthy diversity of lithographic chisel cuts, is a basic theme here. Focusing on the plant forms and biological structure is specific to the artist's entire creation, performed in linocut and woodcut techniques. An important feature is the manner of describing the often exotic and underwater flora, characterised by the closeness of observation, reminiscent of research work or conducted experiments. [F.
