Chen Baiyi (1926 - 2014) is from Shaoyang, Hunan. He graduated from Huazhong Arts College in 1946. National first-class artist, professor, well-known meticulous figure painter and enjoys the special allowance of the State Council. He was a member of the Chinese Federation of Arts, the executive director of the Chinese Association of Arts, the vice-chairman and executive chairman of the Hunan Federation of Arts, the chairman of the Hunan Association of Arts, and the president of the Hunan Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. In March 2005, he was awarded the honorary title of "Excellent People's Artist" and was selected as an artist for Hunan Province's "Three Hundred Project" supported by literary and artistic talents in 2013. He has held many solo exhibitions in Changsha, Guangzhou, Beijing, Taiwan, Macao and Hong Kong. His representative works include Little Partner and Ouyang Sea. He has published many works such as Chen Baiyi's Painting Collection. He is included in the Worldwide Celebrity List and the New Series of Chinese Literature and Art.
