After WWII Ivan Nenov became part of the State Academy of Arts faculty (1945-1950), creating and managing the mosaic atelier at the Academy. Branded a “formalist”, he was fired from the Academy. His works reappeared in exhibition halls during the 1960s. At that time he was very active in the field of ceramics. He organized his first solo exhibition at the age of 73. In 1994 he was elected Academician of the Bulgarian Academy of Science.
