Garnet

Vitreous mineral, usually red or green in colour, most commonly found as a distinct crystal, and in the form of a rhomboidal dodecahedron, but also occurring in other shapes. Garnets have been valued as gemstones since the Bronze Age, and have been used in jewellery since Egyptian and Classical antiquity.
