Mac Ross

Born Jun 16, 1916

Mac Ross was a highly decorated U.S. Army Air Force officer and combat fighter pilot. He became the 100th Fighter Squadron's Commander, and the 332nd Fighter Group's Group Operations Officer of the Tuskegee Airmen.
Among the first five African American combat fighter pilot in the United States military, and one of the 1,007 documented Tuskegee Airmen Pilots. Being among the first five to graduate, they "drew the most sustained attention from the press and the black community as a result."
